Outrageously Expensive Skincare Products Hidden On My Wishlist

Expensive_Skincare_Products

One day, the day will come when you don’t have to frantically worry about every dollar, pound or euro you spend. One day, your bank account will be large enough to accommodate any beauty splurges or spending whims. Well, when that day comes, these are the outrageously expensive skincare products that we would purchase in a heartbeat.

Augustinus Bader – The Rich Cream

£215/$250 for 50ml/1.7 oz.

It seems as though every celebrity or skinfluencer is using Augustinus Bader. I see the iconic blue bottle everywhere. Mini sized bottles have been stuffed into almost every advent calendars. Furthermore, they now have come out with sleek gold refill bottles that look oh so luxurious and will beautify any vanity. It’s fair to say that Augustinus Bader skincare is starting to pique my interest. I’m starting to wonder if this eye-watering cream is actually worth it? Is its premium, science-led skincare actually effective in improving my skin?

The line was created by its name sake, Dr. Augustinus Bader, a biomedical scientist and physician. The Rich Cream, which was the line’s first offering, is made with botanical extracts and loaded with essential fatty acids and antioxidants. This will prevent moisture loss and strengthen skin. Hyaluronic acid is includes too which effectively attracts and retains moisture for plump looking skin. Vitamin E supports barrier function and protects skin from environmental aggressors. And finally, argan and avocado oil to nourish skin and prevent transepidermal water loss and strong, supple skin.

What I believe has pushed Augustinus Bader to stratospheric heights is the celebrity endorsements. Victoria Beckham has cleverly collaborated with Augustinus Bader to launch her own VB skincare line. And Melanie Grant, aesthetician to the most beautiful faces in LA and Sydney frequently lauds Augustinus Bader skincare on her instagram and in her salon.

Augustinus Bader still eludes me and I have yet to try it. What started off with only one product has become a full range with eye creams, oils, serums and the newly launched haircare. It’s getting harder to avoid to this brand. I want to find out for myself whether this cream is worth all the hype and the high price tag, therefore I’ve added it to my wishlist.

Chanel Sublimage La Crème

£350/$415 for 50ml/1.7 oz.

Chanel, the iconic fashion house that makes luxurious fashion, fragrance, beauty and for a while now, skincare. If expensive skincare products are what you are looking for, Chanel is where you should shop. Those that have tried their range of skincare, have said that nothing else compares to Sublimage. It’s beautifully luxurious, beautifully formulated and effective. It takes years to formulate a Chanel skincare range to create a balanced formulation with an exceptional sensorial experience.

It’s not easy to find the ingredients used in Sublimage. Upon purchase, you will be the proud owner of the small booklet which will list all the ingredients. Nevertheless, the website has a succinct description which tells us that the star of the Sublimage skincare range is Vanilla Planifolia. Due to proprietary Chanel formulations, it promises to be 40 times more potent than other conventional extraction methods. It powerfully regenerates skin cells and provides a soft and comforting feel to the skin.

It’s Chanel, what is left to say? There is no doubt that Sublimage will be exceptional, and I’m adding it to my wishlist with the hope that I will be able to try this extraordinary range for myself.

Biologique Recherche Crème Masque Vernix

Around £200/$225 for 50ml/1.7 oz.

Notoriously secretive about their formulations and ingredients, Biologique Recherche is most famous for its P50 lotion. The highly effective exfoliator that revitalises dull skin. Any skincare devotee will not be without a bottle of P50. Similarly, their serums and creams have also been effective in nourishing skin and repairing damage. One cream however, that has eluded me thus far is Crème Masque Vernix.

Crème Masque Vernix came to my radar after superstar aesthetician, Joanna Czech raved about this Biologique Recherche Masque. It helps recondition the epidermis, to bring about fresh, new skin. Formulated with lipids, proteins and antioxidant peptides that will revitalise, regenerate and protect the skin. It’s luscious and thick and perfect for dry skins, but also great for normal and combination skin.

Along with the Crème Masque Vernix, on my wishlist is one of their world famous, Biologique Recherche Facials at one of their salons. The feedback from lucky customers is that it’s an unforgettable experience, leaving skin soft, supple and renewed. I can’t wait to try this!

Have you tried any of these outrageously expensive skincare products? Did they live up to your expectations? And would you re-purchase any in the future?
