Thailand is the perfect beach destination all year round. There is a rainy season from May to October, where the rain is likely to fall daily, however, the rain showers won’t typically last all day and the temperatures still remain warm. Thanks to its equatorial position, it feels like summer in Thailand all year long. For excellent beaches, southern locales such as Krabi, Phuket, and Koh Samui are perfect any time of the year.

Which beaches are the best in Thailand?

Thailand is spoilt for choice with beaches. There are a plethora or idyllic beaches white soft, white sands and crystal clear waters to choose from. Look for accommodation on the western shores. The western shores will provide the best viewing spot for an evening cocktail and watching the sunset over the ocean. Pick the perfect beach and you may even have majestic cliffs jutting out of the ocean which make for the most dramatic sunsets.

Krabi, Railay Beach, Phuket and Koh Samui beaches are the best you can find in Thailand. Choosing anyone of these will guarantee you a superb Thai beach vacation. Even though Ao Nang Beach is very popular, it’s also very touristy. High rise hotel resorts are dotted are the area and there are few beach side resorts. Stick to Tubkaek and Railay beaches.

Krabi

Krabi has a very peaceful and laidback vibe. The scenery is very natural and beaches are long, perfect for those idyllic, long walks on the beach. Railay and Tubkaek beaches are the stars of Krabi. Tubkaek is a personal favourite. It’s a white sand beach and overlooks a 13-island archipelago in the Andaman sea. The archipelago is a spectacular visual treat and provides shelter from the winds, therefore the waters here are very calm.

Where to Stay in Krabi?

Tubkaek Beach

We stayed at the Tubkaak Boutique Resort. It’s tucked away between the forest and the most beautiful beach in Thailand. It’s your own secluded private sanctuary to relax, feel romance and be at one with nature. A plethora of activities awaits you at Tubaak Boutique Resort offers, like kayaking, paddle boarding, and Thai cooking classes, or simply relax on the sun soaked beach. If you are feeling adventurous, trek to Ngon Nak Mountain, do yoga or partake in Thai boxing classes.

Experience complete bliss and relaxation at the exceptional Spa. The unique cocoon shaped treatment rooms offer their signature treatments and massages inspired by traditional Oriental and Thai therapeutic healing. Only natural oils and fresh ingredients grown from their own organic gardens are used. Try the couples massage and complimentary sauna and herbal steam facilities.

What to do in Tubkaek Beach?

Lay your towel on the warm beach sand, under the fringed palm trees. Dig your toes into the soft sand, lie back and watch the ocean ebb and flow. Feel the sea breeze gently swaying through the palm leaves as it cools your skin. Hear the tropical bird song humming a hypnotic lull and plunge into the warm ocean waters for a refreshing dip. Rinse and repeat.

Island Hopping

Tubkaak Boutique Resort has a plethora of activities to choose from. Our favourite was the island hopping on the long tail boats. Book a morning boat tour and the expert skipper will take you to a variety of picturesque islands, stopping at each one for a short dip in the water or a play in the sand. The crystal clear waters at the islands are breathtakingly beautiful and you will be able to see schools of fish swim in between you as you enjoy the lagoons. A highly recommended activity.

Paddle Boarding and Kayaking

In the evening, take out the paddle board in the calm waters for a fun way to explore more of the coast. You can view the resort from the water and see the lush jungle surrounding the resort. Once you’re’ finished with paddle boarding, take out the kayak for more thrills on the ocean.
